98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "Slightly deeper hued than the Chaupin release, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes is 85% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, and the balance other varieties from pebbly, sandy, and red sandstone soils. It has a bigger style, with darker berries, smoky garrigue, ground pepper, and violets on the nose. Also partially destemmed and raised 12 months in foudre and demi-muids, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate and has a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. Its balance, depth, and sheer sense of class are first rate, and Christophe has made the most of this vintage. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 20. Drink 2029-2049." 10/26
