Critic Reviews

Jasper Morris
95-97 Points
95-97 Points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "Glowing mid lemon. The nose is quite restrained. The majesty of the Montrachet builds slowly on the palate with a fine thread of acidity to keep the intensity of fruit in place. All in white fruit, much less exotic, not yet really showing all its paces, so expect much more from this later on in its life. The length shows that it will happen." 11/24
Neal Martin
94-96 Points
94-96 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2023 Montrachet Grand Cru is, as usual, a blend of five parcels that undergo three separate pickings. This is contained on the nose at first. It doesn't really want to come out and play before it gradually unfurls with orange zest, pear drop and citrus fruit hints. The palate is very well balanced with great depth. It's a little spicier with more extract than some of its peers, lingering long on the smoky finish. This will need time. (Drink between 2030-2055)" 01/25
Burghound
92-95 Points
92-95 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Montrachet: (from a .35 ha parcel on the Puligny side that sits directly above the parcel of Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet). A more floral-suffused nose is decidedly restrained and requires aggressive swirling to coax the aromas of acacia and lilac, essence of pear and an admirably discreet application of oak. The sleek, intense, powerful and impressively scaled flavors brim with sappy dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine shaping the precise and wonderfully long, bone-dry and well-balanced finale. As is usually the case at this early stage, this is exceptionally compact but not so much so that it couldn't be approached after 'only' 7 to 8 years." 06/25
John Gilman
98 Points
98 Points, John gilman, View from the Cellar: "ly the style of Montrachet that I would produce! The 2023 Laguiche is pure magic in the making, delivering a stunningly beautiful bouquet of pear, golden delicious apples, lemon, crème pâtissière, almond, chalky soil tones, vanillin oak and a lovely floral topnote of citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, precise and seamless, with beautiful depth of fruit at the core, superb mineral drive and grip, an excellent spine of acidity and laser-like focus on the long, complex and perfectly balanced finish. A great, great wine in the making! 2031-2075." 01/25 #115
Wine Advocate
93-96 Points
93-96 Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2023 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche Grand Cru is a rich, lavish wine, bursting with aromas of honeyed pears, toasted nuts, baking spices, orange oil and white flowers. Full-bodied, broad and layered, it's satiny and seamless, with a deep core of fruit and a long, sapid finish." 01/25
