Ribera del Duero Picaro Clarete Dominio del Aguila 2024 (750ML)

95 Points, Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As well as the 2022 and 2023, I also tasted the 2024 Pícaro del Águila Clarete. It was produced with the same blend as the others: equal parts Tempranillo and Albillo Mayor and up to 30% a complex mix of other red and white varieties found in the old vineyards. The full clusters were pressed and the juice left to settle in concrete vats in the very cold underground caves, and it had a slow fermentation in oak barrels, where it spent a total time of around 15 months. This is the first clarete since 2015 where they didn't use any press wine. It has purity and and is young and tender, with something savory—Monzón talks about paprika, but to me it's more umami—and a salty twist in the chalky finish. It's balanced and should be long lived. It comes in at 14% alcohol but with a low pH of 3.32. Production grew in 2024 to 12,873 bottles and 183 magnums. It was bottled in February 2026." 07/26
