The 2023 Chardonnay Wenzlau Family Vineyard comes from sandy soils, which lends a touch more fruit and aromatic expressiveness in the context of the more taut, mineral-driven house style. Gunflint, ripe pear, chamomile and white pepper explode from the glass. High-quality French oak provides gorgeous support, rounding the edges and allowing the fruit to broaden and gain richness. It's a brilliantly scintillating, distinctive wine. Gentle mid-palate creaminess lends such tenderness on the close. What a fabulous effort.
