Quinta da Muradella Alanda Blanco Monterrei 2023 (750ML)

The 2023 Alanda Blanco is stunning, pale and backward, with crystalline purity and a delicate texture, precise, symmetric and chiseled. As it sat in the glass, it started to unfurl elegant aromas of wildflowers and notions of wet granite. It's tasty, long and persistent, with an ethereal character that is captivating. This is a very serious vintage of Alanda, with potential to age but already approachable and delicious. It's intellectually rewarding.

Partially aged in foudre and two years in total before bottling, the 2023 Alanda from Monterrei is reductive on the nose, with notes of phosphorus and peat opening to white fruit, pear and herbs. It combines a sunny, warm character with a leaner palate marked by freshness and a taut flow. This is concentrated and compact, with intense acidity, elevated creaminess and a faint tannic touch. It is an exotic, slightly short white with a distinctive personality.
