94 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1928 Sercial is reticent on the nose at first, but unfurls nicely with aeration to offer enticing scents of honeycomb, mandarin, Seville orange marmalade and pressed dried flowers with fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with tangy, spicy notes on the entry: dried honey, bitter orange peel, a Tokaji-like oxidation that manifests itself as hazelnut and white pepper on the finish. This is a very impressive Sercial that is just beginning to motor." 08/12

94 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 1928 Sercial Reserva is one of my favorite Madeiras from Pereira d'Oliveira in the first half of the 20th century. The bouquet offers lovely scents of orange pith, honeyed biscuit, hazelnut and linseed oil; pressed flower notes emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a judicious touch of spice on the entry, and almost Aszú-like toward the tangy, peppery finish, which expresses the energy of this Sercial. Excellent." 04/19
