Wine Advocate
97 Points
97 Points, Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dalla Valle's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, matured in 75% new French oak, with a portion in amphora. Ripe black cherries dominate the nose, but this medium- to full-bodied wine remains lively and mouthwatering from start to finish. Silky and harmonious, with nothing out of place and culminating in a long, softly dusty finish, it's a terrific effort." 05/26

100 Points
100 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is magnificent, A wine of soaring intensity and total class, the 2023 dazzles from the very first taste. Black cherry fruit, graphite, new leather, incense, licorice and gravel stain the palate. Young and vibrant, with exceptional finesse, Dalla Valle's 2023 is lights-out. This supremely elegant Cabernet Sauvignon is Napa Valley at its most profound. (Drink between 2028-2045)" 11/25
Decanter
99 Points
99 Points, Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter: " The core Cabernet Sauvignon blocks are drawn from parcels in front of the house (the House Block), a west-facing hillside site, and a later-ripening parcel to the right of the driveway beyond the gate, which contributes natural acidity, focus and length. These components are blended with a barrel selection of estate Cabernet Franc, accounting for roughly 30% of the vineyard. The wine is aged for 23 months in 75% new French oak, with 8% matured in amphora, and fermented in the newly completed winery with extensive use of concrete vessels. The result is a wine marked by striking freshness and a distinct gravelly mineral character, with sagebrush and mint lending aromatic lift. On the palate, that gravelly minerality builds into a foundation of rich, chewy, granular textures that promise to knit together harmoniously over time in the cellar. Yet even in youth, the wine is immensely rewarding: ripe, juicy fruit shines clearly without being overshadowed by structure, while the freshness factor remains remarkably high, driving energy and persistence through the finish. (Drink between 2026-2040)" 03/26

97-100 Points
97-100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "Checking in as 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, the classic 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon from this brilliant estate comes all from the estate and is aging 23 months in 70% new French oak. Cassis, graphite, dark chocolate, and crushed stone notes all emerge from this rich, powerful, incredibly concentrated effort that's full-bodied, with ripe, building tannins, incredible purity, and a blockbuster finish. It's not for the instant gratification crowd and will require a decade to hit maturity, but it will be a 30- to 40-year wine." 12/25
