The nose is intensely earthy, umami and herbaceous, with aromas of old leather, balsamic and mushrooms, along with abundant mint and fennel. The palate is comparably intense, but with fruit flavors of cherry, strawberry and blood orange. An enduring mintiness and a swell of acid provide a bolt of electricity.
