The terroir of Tenuta Caparzo's vineyards enjoy various sun exposures, unique shale and clay soil composition, and differing microclimates across the Montalcino appellation- to the envy of the neighboring estates. These different but important variables contribute to the fullness, aging potential, and distinctive character of their wines. Sangiovese Grosso thrives in these conditions, consistently producing high-quality grapes even in varying climates. The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is an elegant and complex wine that showcases the best of the estate’s exceptionally located vineyards. This vintage offers a captivating bouquet of dried cranberry, blackcurrant, and violet, with subtle notes of graphite. On the smooth linear palate, the wine is full but well-structured with balanced tannins and a much-needed freshness that makes it approachable now. Flavors of black fruit linger on the exceptionally long finish. Experience the bold flavor and richness of the Brunello di Montalcino Caparzo 2019 by pairing it with a tomato-based pasta or a juicy steak.

93 Points, Eric Guido, Vinous: "The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens slowly in the glass, yet it is worth the wait as a dusty blend of dried flowers, cedar shavings, wild strawberries, and spice emerges over time. It’s silky and enveloping with fresh acidity and pretty wild berry fruits that gain in sweetness as they travel across the palate. It finishes long and staining yet still lively and spry, leaving a coating of fine tannins and licorice hints that resonate under an air of violet inner florals. The 2019 is a lovely interpretation of northern Montalcino fruit." 12/23

93 Points, Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com: "A rich ruby color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino offers a lovely bouquet of medicinal herbs, dried redcurrants, roses, and orange zest. Approachable from the start, the palate is medium-bodied, with lovely freshness and purity, angular tannins, and a clean finish. It is a very well-done wine from Caparzo that will be best enjoyed over the next 6-8 years. I really like these wines for their value, and they’re great restaurant offerings..." 02/28/24

94 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: "The Caparzo 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers lively aromas of cherry cola, forest berry and dried cranberry that really pop on the bouquet. The dimension and latitude of the wine is impressive, especially in terms of mouthfeel, and with this bottle you're set for near and medium-term drinking. However, what works best in my opinion is the wine's balanced and much-needed freshness. You get great quality over an ambitious release of 160,000 bottles." 12/23

95 Points, James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com: "Pretty pure fruit to this with black cherry, black berry and light chocolate aromas. The palate is full and focused with very polished tannins and a long, long finish. Best after 2027." 09/23

93 Points, Kerin O`Keefe, www.kerinokeefe.com: "Delicate aromas suggesting graphite, crushed mint and iris take shape on the 2019 Brunello from Caparzo. Smooth and sleek, the linear palate features juicy Morello cherry, raspberry, star anise and the same graphite nose as the nose. Polished tannins offer lithe support. It’s already surprisingly accessible but will also offer another decade of pleasure. Drink 2027–2034." 11/23
