Critic Reviews
James Suckling
97 Points
97 Points, Ryan Montgomery, JamesSuckling.com: "The precision is quite profound, with aromas of black currants, ferric earth, crushed stones, underbrush and coffee beans. The palate is full-bodied with good acidity, fine tannins and a long, minerally finish. 90% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc. Absolutely delicious now, with so much ageability. Drink or hold." 4/26
Wine Advocate
95-97 Points
95-97 Points, Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Winemaker Tony Biagi's claim that Patria's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is "the best Oakville Ranch I've ever made," seems likely to be borne out, at least based on this barrel sample. The wine is wonderfully fragrant and floral, with notes of sage accenting pristine black cherries on the nose. It's medium- to full-bodied, framed by silky, fine-grained tannins and shows terrific length on the remarkably elegant finish. It's a terrific value—if any wine that's roughly $5 per ounce can be considered a value." 06/25
Antonio Galloni
96 Points
96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a large-framed, ample wine. Blackberry jam, chocolate, incense, espresso, licorice, cloves and lavender infuse the 2023 with tons of textural depth and sheer power. This opulent, full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon is not at all shy, but its balance is terrific. A dollop of Cabernet Franc rounds out the blend." 11/25
Jeb Dunnuck
98 Points
98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "All from clone 7 vines planted in a very rocky parcel, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch sports a deep purple hue as well as sensational aromatics of crème de cassis, graphite, violets, crushed stone, and beautifully integrated oak. Aged 22 months in 75% new French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, gorgeous tannins, and flawless balance. The purity, elegance, and depth are next level. Give bottles 4-5 years if you can and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink 2029-2049. (Drink between 2029-2049)" 12/25
