Samas Isola dei Nuraghi is a vibrant and well-balanced white wine from Sardinia, Italy, crafted by Agricola Punica. It is named after Samas, the Punic God of the Sun, reflecting its bright and lively character. The wine is a blend primarily of Vermentino and Chardonnay grapes grown on predominantly sandy and calcareous soils. These grapes are hand-harvested at dawn to preserve their fresh varietal notes. The vinification process uses cryomaceration techniques to prevent oxidation, followed by prolonged fermentation at controlled cool temperatures, aging on lees, and maturation in small concrete vats without filtration or clarification. The wine exhibits a vivid straw yellow color with green hints and offers aromatic notes of citrus, tropical fruits, Mediterranean herbs like sage, and a fresh minerality. It pairs well with fish, seafood, and white meat dishes and can also be enjoyed as an aperitif.
