Veneto Capitel Foscarino Anselmi 2023 (750ML)

Capitel Foscarino comes from the vineyard of that name at the very top of the Foscarino hill, where Anselmi's vines root in volcanic tuff. The wine draws on Garganega, Incrocio Manzoni and Chardonnay alongside disease-resistant PIWI hybrid varieties. Pressing is soft and pneumatic under a controlled atmosphere; the must is settled, then fermented cool, and oxygen is kept out from start to finish. The wine then rests six months in steel at low temperature, its lees stirred weekly to build texture. In the glass it is dry and full of ripe fruit, with genuine depth, a juicy line of acidity that keeps everything in balance, and a long, persistent close. It is made for the table: try it with linguine alle vongole, grilled branzino or a spring-vegetable risotto.
