Greco di Tufo Novaserra Mastroberardino 2023 (750ML)

Antonio Mastroberardino is credited with reviving the ancient Greco grape, and Novaserra is the family's selection from its Montefusco estate. It is 100% Greco from 25-year-old vines on a southeast-facing site at about 550 meters, in calcareous clay with volcanic elements, cropped at roughly 1.5 kilograms per vine. Harvest is by hand at the end of October; the wine then spends about 20 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel and three to four months in bottle before release. Deep straw in the glass, it offers apricot, peach, pear and citrus over green almond, sage and a mineral note. The palate pairs ripe fruit with brisk acidity, real weight and a distinctly savory finish. The label carries a detail from Raffaele De Rosa's painting on a vault of the cellar's aging caves. Pour it with mushroom risotto, fried calamari or roast chicken.
