Critic Reviews
Antonio Galloni
94-97 Points
94-97 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2023 Trotanoy is a potent, virile wine. A blast of dark red fruit meets notes of iron, sage, tobacco, cedar, blood orange and menthol, saturating the palate. Vertical tannins frame it all, giving Trotanoy its distinctive feel. The 2023 will need some time to come together, but it is impressive. Explosive and deep, the 2023 is simply magnificent." 04/24
James Suckling
98 Points
98 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "The depth and complexity are wonderful, with blackberry, blueberry, dried flower, bark, violet and black olive aromas. Full-bodied with a deep palate of dark fruit and a hint of dark chocolate. It’s full-bodied but very tight, framed beautifully with firm and open-grained tannins that go on and on. Chewy and lightly salty at the end. 100% merlot. Needs time to soften. Best after 2029." 12/25
Neal Martin
95+ Points
95+ Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2023 Trotanoy has an enticing bouquet that leans more toward red fruit compared to recent vintages, beautifully defined with raspberry, white-tipped strawberry, loam and light leather scents, less floral perhaps than previous vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, wonderful body and depth, grippy with a judiciously spiced finish that lingers temptingly in the mouth. What a gorgeous Pomerol... again." 02/26
Wine Advocate
95-97 Points
95-97 Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2023 Trotanoy is showing brilliantly, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berries, rose petals, baking chocolate, spices and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular palate that's rich, dense and powerful, while remaining unusually sensual and harmonious for the standards of an estate that can sometimes produce hulking, monolithic wines. Concentrated and penetrating, it's an especially strong performer this year." 04/24
