Critic Reviews

Wine Advocate
93-95 Points
93-95 Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Offering up aromas of rich cherries, berries and plums mingled with spices and orange zest, and framed by toasty new oak, the 2021 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with a seamless, enveloping profile and melting structuring tannins." 01/23
Burghound
92-95 Points
92-95 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: " A deft application of wood easily allows the much spicier aromas of red and dark berries, smoked game and forest floor to be appreciated. The rich yet sleek and utterly delicious bigger-bodied and more powerful flavors exude a more subtle minerality on the balanced and impressively persistent finale. This is classier as well as markedly more complex than the Chapelle. (Drink starting 2033)" 04/23
Neal Martin
91-93 Points
91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an attractive nose with red berry fruit, autumn leaves and subtle graphite scents, all gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. It's surprisingly creamy in texture and candied towards the finish, though lacks the intrinsic complexity of a truly great vintage. It becomes a little hard with aeration, unlike the Chambertin. (Drink between 2025-2043)" 01/23
Decanter
93 Points
93 Points, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter: "Lovely ripe blackberry fruit with spice and earth notes spring from the glass on the initial attack – one immediately realizes this is very good. If it lacks the depth and concentration of some of the wines from the Clos de Bèze, this is still dense, structured, and long with a supple and velvety appeal to it that will only grow with time. The grapes come from the 0.42-hectare domaine-owned parcel acquired in 1985 from Domaine Clair-Daü. The fruit is destemmed, gently fermented on native yeasts, and aged in Cadus barrels, one-third new. (Drink between 2025-2045)" 11/22

94-97 Points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy: " Pretty pink purple with a lively but fine nose. The fruit starts discreetly but then here it comes, delivering a level of class not seen in any of the previous Jadot wines, good though they are. The Clos de Bèze is beautifully balanced, and light on its feet. Drink from 2028-2035." 10/22
