Deep ruby color, the nose is expressive with notes of chocolate, floral, black raspberry, cherry, oak, and plum are present. Soft and velvety with supple tannins and a fairly long finish. A medium to full-bodied appeal, this is silky smooth, seductive, and complex. Château Hosanna is unclassified but has historically been considered among the great crus of the region. The property is situated south of Château Lafleur, west of Château Pétrus and north of Château Vieux Certan.

Critic Reviews

James Suckling
95 Points
95 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "This is polished and fragrant, expressing notes of plums, mulberries, chocolate, nutmeg and hazelnuts. Medium- to full-bodied, silky and elegant with creamy layers of dark fruit. Very fine tannins. Long and seamless. Try after 2026." 12/23

94 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "One of my favorite châteaux, the 2021 Château Hosanna is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc from 4.5 hectares of blue clay soils in the heart of Pomerol. Harvest between September 24 and October 6, it has a vivid opaque purple hue to go with beautiful black and blue fruits, iron, graphite, and damp earth-like aromas and flavors. It's rich, medium-bodied, and has good concentration and ripe yet building tannins. This quintessential Pomerol deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will shine over the following 15-20 years. (Drink between 2028-2049)" 04/24

94 Points
94 Points, Georgina Hindle, Decanter: "Ripe and fragrant black fruit on the nose, cherries and blackcurrants. Grippy, vibrant and rich, an element of quite perfumed fruit here. It tastes on the border of being overly ripe in terms of fruit concentration, but has a very lean, direct texture that is streamlined with an undercurrent of liquorice, cola and salty minerality. It comes together nicely on the chalky, slightly spiced finish. Charming and confident. (Drink between 2027-2048)" 12/23
