Critic Reviews
Neal Martin
96 Points
96 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2020 La Fleur Pétrus has a wonderfully precise and focused bouquet with vivacious black fruit, crushed stone and subtle violet scents. The oak is seamlessly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, almost Left Bank in style thanks to a seam of graphite. It's complex and engaging, maintaining cohesion and persistence on the finish. This is a superb Pomerol. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Drink between 2028-2060)" 11/24
Antonio Galloni
95 Points
95 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: “The 2020 La Fleur-Pétrus is a gorgeous, polished wine. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, blood orange and pomegranate lend tons of immediacy and primary fruit character. Suave on the palate, with exquisite length, La Fleur-Pétrus is a wine of total sensuality. In 2020, ripeness is pushed to the edge, while the new oak is a bit present. Bright acids and sweet floral notes linger on the long, beautifully delineated finish. This is a bit more extroverted than I remember en primeur, but superb just the same.” 12/22

100 Points
100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: “The 2020 Château La Fleur-Petrus is a sensational, powerful Pomerol that brings serious depth and richness. Displaying a deep, inky color, it offers a complex bouquet of blackcurrants, smoky oak, graphite, chocolate, and truffle. Full-bodied, concentrated, and pure on the palate, it delivers remarkable intensity while maintaining a seamless, elegant mouthfeel. The tannins are perfectly ripe and well-integrated, and it has a finish that won't quit. This magnificent effort from the team at La Fleur-Petrus will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and cruise for 30+ years. Drink 2029-2059. (Drink between 2029-2059)" 06/25
Decanter
99 Points
99 Points, Georgina Hindle, Decanter: “Sumptuous and stylish, this, like many of the best in 2020, is quietly confident showing just enough structure and seriousness while still being joyous and sensual. Blueberries, pomegranates and raspberries comprise the clear and crystalline fruit with cooling minty freshness alongside touches of dark chocolate and licks of medicinal and exotic spices. Tannins are supple and just chewy, giving the perfect weight to the palate with a wet stone aspect to the long finish. Totally moreish, I adore this wine. (Drink between 2028-2050)" 01/23

100 Points
100 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: “One of the most powerful and significant La Fleur-Petrus I have ever tasted with incredible depth and power. It’s full and so layered with fine and intense tannins. It shows very dark fruits, dark chocolate with hazelnuts, and milk chocolate with almonds. This will age for eternity." 03/23
