The color is concentrated, intense. Aromas of fresh black currant, sweet and ripe, bring great intensity to the wine's fruity youthfulness. Careful barrel aging shows well. This 2010 vintage is fresh and powerful on the palate, with an evolution focusing on tight and firm tannins. The mid-palate is very fleshy, finishing on a slightly dry note produced by the wine's youth and the harvest's maturity. This wine has great power with very good aromatic length. Grapes harvested at full ripeness give fruity retro-olfactive aromas which fully express the potential of Pavie's terroir.

Critic Reviews
Jeb Dunnuck
100 Points
100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "Pure perfection, the 2010 Château Pavie has that rare mix of richness and elegance that's so hard to find yet seems to emerge from this address with ease. Incredible darker berry fruits, white truffle, crushed stone, sappy flowers, and smoky, tobacco-like nuances all define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied, with a focused, yet rich, intense mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a blockbuster of a finish. It’s another 2010 that’s just now at the early stages of its prime drinking window and should cruise in cold cellars over the coming three decades. Drink 2025-2055. (Drink between 2025-2055)" 06/25

99 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "This is really exceptional with such freshness, firmness and focus. Full body, incredibly tight tannins and a lengthy finish. Such power and elegance at the same time. The beginning of a new era of Pavie." 03/18
Wine Advocate
100 Points
100 Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Pavie delivers tantalizing suggestions of candied violets, star anise and tapenade over a core of prunes, blueberry compote, Morello cherries and fruitcake with touches of underbrush and bouquet garni. Full-bodied, rich and exotically opulent, the palate has a rock-solid texture of velvety tannins and bold freshness supporting the generous palate of black and blue berry preserves, finishing long and fragrant." 03/20
Decanter
98 Points
98 Points, Georgina Hindle, Decanter: "Bright rose petals and dark fruit with hints of liquorice and tobacco. Smooth, sumptuous and heady, this feels both romantic and powerful. Massy tannins are softened by layers of strawberry and cherry, with salty, wet-stone edges and chalky grip. Cinnamon and clove add spice and lift. Excellent freshness, razor-sharp definition, ripe and structured. (Drink between 2025-2050)" 10/25
