95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com: “The 2009 Rauzan-Ségla shows the style of the vintage perfectly and is a ripe, mouthfilling, sexy Margaux that’s just begging to be drunk. It doesn’t have the sheer density of the 2010 but offers a more weightless, full-bodied, layered style as well as fabulous notes of dark fruits, roasted herbs, graphite, chocolate, and tobacco. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot, it’s going to continue dishing out plenty of pleasure over the coming 20-25 years or more. It’s worth noting that the label here is different due to 2009 being the 350-year anniversary of the estate.” 5/19

97 Points, James Suckling, jamessuckling.com: “Complex aromas of dried citrus fruit, with very ripe plums and currants. Full and very dense, with lots of beautiful fruit and super velvety tannins. This is really long and caressing, with intense structure. A gorgeous wine. Muscular and powerful. Made for the long term. Try in 2020.” 3/12 “Gorgeous nose of raspberries and blueberries. Hints of chocolate and oak. Full bodied, but compacted and very racy. Lovely fruit with milk chocolate, but the texture of tannins is so beautiful. This is the best Rauzan ever made – except perhaps the great pre-phylloxera bottles of the 1800s. Try in 2019.” 11/11
