Rivers-Marie Purrington Rued Vineyard Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2024 (750ML)

This is the last Purrington Rued Vineyard Chardonnay Rivers-Marie will make, closing its run at a Sonoma Coast site planted in 1969 and known as the birthplace of the Rued Clone. That clone’s aromatic, almost Alsatian personality is the whole point of the wine, and the old vines lend it depth. After a punishing previous year, 2024 settled back into more normal weather; brief heat spikes in July and October needed watching, but nothing derailed the season, and the 100% Chardonnay fruit came in as large, juicy berries. The style is perfumed: lime, green apple, jasmine and fresh ginger, with a light petrol note and a fleshy, savory texture that never turns heavy. Critics see it drinking well from 2026 through 2034. Its aromatics make it a natural partner for Thai green curry, ginger-steamed halibut or Vietnamese summer rolls.
