Olivier Leflaive’s village Meursault is an assemblage of 10 to 15 complementary plots, chosen to balance richness against elegance. Some sit low on the slope in deep, rich soil, others higher up on limestone and marl, all between 250 and 300 meters, with vines averaging 40 years old. 2023 is now regarded as the hottest year on record, with a serious water deficit, heavy disease pressure and uneven ripening, though a generous crop allowed for thorough sorting. The 100% Chardonnay fruit goes in as whole grapes, settles for 24 hours, then ferments and goes through malolactic in oak barrels, 20% of them new. Élevage runs 18 months, six of them in stainless steel. The wine is broad and generous, with a gentle ginger spice and a soft, slowly fading finish. Try it with slow-cooked cod in herb butter sauce, porcini risotto, or Cîteaux cheese.

Critic Reviews
Burghound
90-93 Points
90-93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Subtle though still easily perceptible wood can be found on the fresh, cool and citrusy aromas of mostly white orchard fruit and acacia blossom. There is excellent volume and power to the notably bigger-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract as well as a subtle minerality on the solidly persistent and well-balanced finale.
