Only the 30th vintage Laurent-Perrier has made since 1952, the 2015 Brut Millésimé is an even split: 50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. It spent at least seven years on its lees and was finished with a dosage of 6 grams per liter. The hot, dry 2015 season gives this release more firmness and grip than the house’s usual delicate style, and a clear contrast with the more classical 2012 and 2008. Smoke and dark bread lead the nose, with a faint note of plum. On the palate, lemon and yellow apple meet a bitter citrus-peel edge and a light peppery bite, the fruit drifting toward golden, tropical tones on a compact frame. Critics see it at its best from now into the early 2030s. Bring it to the table with fried chicken, pork belly or aged Comté.

James Suckling
95 Points
95 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "This is in a new bottle, like the stout ones used for the rosé and blanc de blancs. This is very structured with a density and richness with hints of strawberry to the apple character. Bubbles turn fine textured at the end. Delicious flavors of biscuits and dried apple in the finish. Special character to this because of the very ripe vintage. Disgorged in November 2021. This is half chardonnay and half pinot noir. This can age well due to the phenolics. Drink or hold." 07/23

93 Points, Yohan Castaing, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As usual, this latest release of the 2015 Brut Millésimé is a blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Offering up aromas of confit citrus, blanched almonds, spices and a delicate smoky reduction, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and enrobing, with good depth at the core and a slightly smoky, phenolic finish. Dosage: eight grams per liter." 10/24
