Duval-Leroy Prestige Brut Rose NV (750ML)

Pale salmon edging toward orange in the glass, Duval-Leroy's Prestige Rosé is a Premier Cru blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. The nose mixes dried strawberry, redcurrant and blood orange with orange blossom and a charred-toast note. On the palate it is medium-bodied and concentrated but firmly dry, with a fine, lively bead, a faint honeyed roundness and a bitter-orange snap on the finish that keeps it bracing. It has more grip and seriousness than its delicate color suggests, which makes it as much a wine for dinner as for the aperitif hour, and the red-berry fruit returns clearly at the close. At the table it handles seared tuna, roast duck with cherries or a board of jamón and aged Manchego with ease.
