Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Avignonesi 2022 (750ML)

Avignonesi farms with organic and biodynamic certification, and its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is 100% Sangiovese. The 2022 season tested the vines: a dry winter and cool early spring gave way to generous April rain, which proved vital, because from May until harvest the summer ran extremely dry. The vines held up without much stress, and a good temperature range near picking preserved the wine's fragrance. Aging runs the 24 months the appellation requires, with the oak kept unobtrusive, and 233,306 bottles were made. Ruby with purple glints, it offers cherry, blackberry and pomegranate over violet, rosemary and allspice, then graphite and licorice on a medium-weight, fluid palate, with well-knit tannins and lively acidity that keeps it moving. Critics see it settling in from 2026 or 2027 and holding through 2035. Pici with wild boar ragù, grilled pork chops or aged pecorino all work.
