Zachys Cellar School: Viticulture 101

Zachys Cellar School: Viticulture 101

6-7PM | Discover how every great wine begins in the vineyard.

Great wine begins long before a grape ever reaches the cellar. Before fermentation, barrels, or blending, there is the vineyard—a place where climate, soils, farming decisions, and grape variety quietly determine a wine's character long before the winemaker has a chance to leave a signature.

This introductory seminar explores the fundamentals of grape growing while providing the foundation for understanding wine from the vine outward. Whether you're new to wine or looking to deepen your appreciation, this class will forever change how you think about what's in your glass.

Attendees will receive 10% off their same-day purchase in-store. Valid on full price, in-stock items only.

Classes will be hosted by Davis Steller, who has worked with wine from the vineyard to the cellar to the dining room. He's farmed at California estates including Mayacamas, Oakville Ranch, and Laurel Glen; made wine at Diamond Creek and Aubert in Napa, as well as in Umbria; and worked as a sommelier at Blue Hill. That range gives him a considered perspective on wine — from how it's grown, to how it's made, to how it arrives, finally, in the glass.
