Critic Reviews

Decanter
94 Points
94 Points, Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter: "“There is more Cabernet Franc in this vintage,” says winemaker Natalie Bath. “It performed well, and I felt it added nice depth and intrigue.” The blend also includes 5% Malbec, while the addition of Petit Verdot contributes more structured tannins. All grapes are sourced from their 19.4ha estate in Oakville. Fermentation took place in stainless steel and concrete, with a tiny portion undergoing barrel fermentation. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was blended and aged for 18 months in 36% new French oak before bottling. The Crossroads is brightly structured, with crisp, crunchy acidity and vibrant red fruit character, complemented by a lovely perfumed radiance. Graceful tannins swell on the mid-palate, adding depth and richness to the concentrated red fruit profile. The finish is long, lasting, and mouthwatering. Perhaps one of the most food-friendly Cabernet Sauvignons I tasted from the 2022 vintage—an impressive effort with excellent focus and tension. (Drink between 2025-2035)" 01/25

93 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "A deep, dark and generous wine that's the least expensive of the Rudd Oakville Estate reds. It's polished, full-bodied and complex, offering aromas of blackcurrants, graphite, star anise and dark chocolate. Moderate tannins fill out the palate, framing more dark fruit, subtle oak spices and light toasty flavors. Mostly cabernet sauvignion, with 13% cabernet franc, 6% petit verdot and 4% malbec. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." 02/25

90 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "A terrific, value-priced Cabernet, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Crossroads offers darker red and black fruits, graphite, spicy wood, and some incense nuances. Based on 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, and 5% Malbec and aged 22 months in 36% new French oak, it's medium-bodied and has a layered, balanced mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It does everything right, especially in this vintage and at this price point. Drink 2025-2032. (Drink between 2025-2032)" 12/25
