Critic Reviews

Decanter
93 Points
93 Points, Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter: "This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced exclusively from the Rafael Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District, situated at the base of Mt. Veeder. Aged for 20 months in 10% new French oak, the 2022 vintage marks a shift in production to a facility in St. Helena, moving from its previous location in south Napa. The 2022 vintage offers a more generous fruit profile compared to 2021, featuring notes of juicy plum, black cherry, fig, and dark chocolate. Assertive, very fine tannins with a saline character are seamlessly layered throughout, adding depth and complexity. The wine features excellent mid-palate density, framed by fine-boned acidity that enhances its structure and balance. Remarkably fresh and bright, this wine defies the challenges of the 2022 growing season, including significant heat spikes, delivering a vibrant and delicious experience. A testament to expert winemaking and vineyard management, this Cabernet is both approachable and refined." 12/24
Antonio Galloni
93 Points
93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon DI CO is a compelling entry-level Cabernet from Di Costanzo. Dark, savory and expressive, the 2022 has a ton to offer. It offers plenty of the savory, old-school character that is typical of these wines, but with less imposing structure and more immediacy. It's the wine in the range that has changed the most over the last year— it's a bit more open than it was before. Even so, the DI CO delivers tremendous quality and value. (Drink between 2025-2034)" 12/24

92 Points, Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Di Co Cabernet Sauvignon comes from an Oak Knoll vineyard that Massimo said held up well during the heat wave and was picked September 15. There are hints of mint and pencil shavings (10% new French oak) framing intense cassis notes on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied and velvety in texture, then perhaps a bit coarser and showing just a touch of warmth on the finish." 02/25
