Critic Reviews
Burghound
91-93 Points
91-93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable today. More interesting are the succulent and equally gorgeously textured larger-bodied flavors display impressive power while coating the palate with dry extract that also serves to buffer the firm acid spine supporting the solidly persistent finish. This isn't as refined as the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet but it is a bit more complex as well as just a little firmer. (Drink starting 2031)" 06/25
Jancis Robinson
18/20 Points
18 Points, Julia Harding, JancisRobinson.com: "Vinified in mainly new oak. Cask sample. Subtle oak overlay of spice and oatmeal over the tangy lemon and green fruits. Rich, intensely youthful yet with great potential thanks to the freshness and the depth of fruit. Really long. (JH) (Drink between 2028-2040)" 11/24
Neal Martin
93-95 Points
93-95 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2023 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has quite an intense bouquet with mineral-rich citrus fruit, touches of flint and smoke developing in the glass. It has wonderful definition and gains more presence with several minutes' aeration. The palate is well balanced with a silver bead of acidity threaded through the slightly vanillary fruit. A delicate touch of ginger lends more complexity to the harmonious finish. This is an excellent Bâtard-Montrachet. (Drink between 2027-2048)" 01/25
Jasper Morris
94-96 Points
94-96 Points, Jasper Morris, InsideBurgundy.com: "Plush and lush on the nose, with solid oak to back it up, speaking loudly of Bâtard-Montrachet. Could this be too much of a good thing? No, because there is an adequate thread of acidity to hold it all together. Pretty powerful stuff and faithful to the terroir. 10 barrels made in total. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted Oct 2024." 10/24
