It sweeps across the palate with ripe wild berry fruits and saline mineral tones, all offset by a tinge of sour citrus. Stimulating acidity keeps the mouth watering for more—even while edgy tannins saturate the palate—as the 2020 finishes long with notes of red plum and a resonance of tart cranberry. It opens with balsamic aromas of eucalyptus that mingle with cedar, juniper berry, blue flower and spice. Young but already delicious, the palate shows intensity and finesse, delivering layers of wild raspberry, Morello cherry, cinnamon and licorice accompanied by taut, fine-grained tannins. The wine offers a bright moment of freshness on the mid-palate followed by medium weight and length. My initial impression of the 2020 vintage is that it offers a lot of upfront intensity with enough acidity to count on a reasonably long bottle evolution. The tannins add a dusty note and are a little too tight at this early stage. This is a 20,000-bottle release." 11/24
