Caprili's Brunello di Montalcino Riserva AdAlberto 2019 is a testament to the estate's dedication to traditional Montalcino winemaking. Founded by Alfo Bartolomei in 1965, Caprili, now managed by his son Paolo, is situated in the southwestern slopes of Montalcino, known for its ideal microclimate and galestro soils. The AdAlberto Riserva, dedicated to Alfo’s father, is crafted from select Sangiovese Grosso grapes, showcasing the estate's finest terroir. The 2019 vintage, marked by a classic Brunello growing season, presents a deep garnet hue. Aromas of ripe red cherries, dried herbs, and earthy notes emerge. On the palate, it’s elegantly structured, with refined tannins, layers of pomegranate, dark fruit, and blood orange notes that build into a long, saline finish. This exceptional Brunello pairs perfectly with roasted game, braised meats, or aged Pecorino cheese. Its complexity and depth elevate any fine dining experience.

Critic Reviews

Vinous Media
95 Points
95 Points, Eric Guido, Vinous: "The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Adalberto opens with a rich blend of crushed plum and cherry complicated by hints of smoke, ashen stone, leather and citrusy spice. It's seamlessly smooth and silky in feel, with radiant red and black fruits that ride a stream of brisk acidity as saline minerals saturate toward the close. A sweet and sour sensation lingers through the finish as a tinge of pomegranate mixes with blood orange over a bed of grippy tannins. The 2019 is an unbridled beast just waiting to be tamed." 11/23

95 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: "This is sleek and succulent, featuring cherry, strawberry, blood orange, rose and mineral aromas and flavors. Flinty, with fine intensity as this cruises to the long aftertaste, which echoes the fruit and mineral notes and refined tannins..." WS Insider 3/26/25
