93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "A saturated ruby/magenta in color, the 2021 Barbaresco Basarin shows off lovely, ripe layers with spiced accents and also has notable oak spice, but it seems a bit less overt here. It’s more red-fruited and has a slightly higher-toned profile in its notes of chocolate covered cherries, baking spices, violets, and incense. Medium-bodied, it has good drive and energy to its fresh acidity, and its finely coiled tannins add a plushness to the texture, with a chalkier, slightly more linear feel, although it’s still ripe all the way through its long finish. I like this a bit more for drinking now, but it should age gracefully over the coming 10-12 years." 05/24
