Critic Reviews
Antonio Galloni
93 Points
93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The NV Brut Réserve Magnum (base 2020) is bright and beautifully focused right out of the gate. As always, the base wine for the magnum is one year behind the 750ml bottles. That extra time on the lees is one of the reasons why the magnum is often exceptional – it is again this year. Citrus, crushed rocks and white flowers are some of the many nuances that build over time. I especially admire the energy and overall tension here. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: November 2023. (Drink between 2024-2036)" 03/24
Wine Spectator
92 Points
92 Points, Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator: "Lemon curd, delicate herb and spice notes lead to flavors of crushed white cherry, toasted brioche and honey, with a streak of salinity, in this firm, focused Champagne, showing a lacy mousse. Offers a long, mouthwatering finish. Disgorged January 2018. Drink now through 2022. 5,416 cases made." 11/18
James Suckling
92 Points
92 Points, jamessuckling, jamessuckling.com: "Plenty of pastry and lees-derived chalkiness and fresh cream notes. The palate is very fleshy, expansive and accessible and yet it stays very pure, fine and focused. Great shape. Mostly pinot with 35 per cent of reserve wine. Drink now." 09/18
Jeb Dunnuck
92 Points
92 Points, Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com: "The current release of the NV Champagne Brut Reserve is based on the 2019 vintage. It is roughly equal parts Chardonnay, Meunier, and Pinot Noir, with 35% reserve wine blended in. Fruity, floral, and open, with notes of fresh citrus blossoms, orchard fruits, and fresh bread, the palate is generous and approachable, with apricot, berries, and a lightly savory broth. This is consistently one of the best entry wines that versatile enough to drink alone or to accompany a meal. Drink 2022-2030. (Drink between 2022-2030)" 11/22
Decanter
95 Points
95 Points, Andy Howard, Decanter: "This dynamic estate was established in 1847 but it is the arrival of brothers Raphael and Vincent that has transformed the house. There are 11ha of old vines around Ludes in the Montagne de Reims. Organic principles are used in the vineyard with extended ageing in oak and on cork adding to the depth of the wines. Sophisticated and complex, with a creamy texture and toasty notes, peach and apple fruit, purity of flavour and crisp acidity to balance. 90,000 bottles produced. Disgorged in November 2024, with a dosage of 5.2g/L. (Drink between 2025-2030)" 10/25
