Montepulciano

While this grape is often mistaken with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano - a Sangiovese based wine from Tuscany - the grape, Montepulciano, is most notably grown in the Abruzzo region on the east coast of Italy and is the second most widely planted indigenous grape. Its red plum and sour cherry notes mixed with balanced acidity blend perfectly with subtle herbaceous characteristics. This medium bodied red is a go-to for charcuterie plates and pizza nights for Zachys’ employees and customers alike!
