Albarino
Zachy’s favorite Spain white is undoubtedly Albariño from the northwestern coastal region of Galicia. Packing plenty of acidity and salinity, Albariños are the perfect compliment to the oceanside fare of regions such as Rías Baixas and Vinho Verde in Portugal. Traditionally enjoyed young and fresh, many winemakers today are aging their Albariños in oak to create a richer style that can be enjoyed decades later.
