Brane Cantenac 2010 (750ML)
2010 is an extremely complex wine with freshness and aromatic layers that led to a velvety richness. The nose is delicate and nuanced, a perfect expression of the terroir. The 185 acre Left Bank vineyard of Brane Cantenac in Margaux is essentially unchanged since it earned Second Growth status in 1855, the entire vineyard can be divided into 120 separate parcels. Their vineyard is prized for the depth of the gravel soils which can be as deep as 40 feet. Brane Cantenac is aged in an average of 60% new, French oak barrels for 17 months before bottling and known for its elegant, silky style that is lighter and fresher than most of its neighbors.

Robert Parker Notes
95+ Points, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate: "With a gorgeously evolved, extremely complex bouquet of forest floor, spring flowers, lead pencil shavings and red and black currants, this full-bodied, dense, ruby/plum/purple-colored wine hits the palate with an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and a very layered, profoundly concentrated style that is, at the same time, both powerful and sublime. This gorgeous wine from proprietor Henri Lurton will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and evolve for 25-30 years." 02/13

Neal Martin Notes
95 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château, the 2010 Brane-Cantenac is a blend of 30% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 62% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose has completely shut down since I last tasted it and cannot compare with the aromatics of the 2009 at present. The palate is a truer indicator of the wine, because it races out of the blocks with its ripe, firm tannins, layers of mineral-rich black fruit with a tingle of spice on the animated finish. Here, it just shades the 2009. Both are sensational vintages for the estate, although I suspect this might have the edge in the longer term. This is a brilliant Margaux with a long future ahead. Tasted April 2015." 12/16
