Vinous Media

90-92 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2017 Volnay Vendange Sélectionée comes from vines that lie just below the line of Premier Crus. It has a bright bouquet with wild strawberry, red cherries and a faint, almost ash-like scent. It is very well defined. The palate is quite fleshy and rounded on the entry, finely judged in terms of acidity, with a slightly "crunchiness" to the texture on the finish, just a dab of white pepper on the aftertaste. Probably one of the most overlooked of Lafarge's Volnays - I suggest you don't." 10/18

Burghound

89-92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "This is aromatically similar to the straight Volnay villages but with slightly more complexity and a broader range of spice elements. There is once again very good punch to the racy medium-bodied flavors that offer solid minerality on the impressively long and slightly firmer finish that deliver notably better depth. This is an impressive effort for its level and recommended." 4/19

Decanter

93 Points, Tim Atkin, Decanter: "A super village cuvée sourced from four different parcels, all of them next to the premiers crus that dominate the centre of the appellation. This has more colour than Lafarge's entry point Volnay, as well as more concentration, grip and texture. It still has the balance that's the hallmark of the domaine's wine, but also more weight." 10/18
