93+ Points, Zachys Buying Team: "This is, once again, one of the most exciting white Burgundy values we have come across, and as we have said before it is simply a gift that challenges many northern Meursault Premier Crus at a fraction the price. It is once again a Burgundy that is graded on a different rating scale - as this wine does everything it is supposed to do and more. We loved the 2014 expression, and the 2017 is right there with it with even more purity of fruit, freshness, minerality and mouth-watering acidity. It begins with a touch of flint and chalk, but what impresses here is the layers of fruit nuances that unfold as the wine opens; first a spectrum of citrus - grapefruit, lime, lemon pit, and orange blossoms that is followed by ripe pears, brown spice which eventually gives way to creaminess that builds and builds with the acidity carrying the nuances through for a long profound finish. It is once again Lafon zip and elegance under $35. If you are looking to understand what great Burgundy is all about - it begins here! Serve cellar temperature and let breathe thirty minutes, and then match with our favorite pairing of seared scallops over a corn puree or just serve it chilled with some good company on the patio and seafood."

It has a delightful seashell bouquet that opens with joie-de-vivre given a modest swirling.
