Trinoro Tenuta Di Trinoro 2009 (750ML)
99 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "If you ask Andrea Franchetti to name his two favorite vintages of the past, they are 2001 and 2009. The 2009 Tenuta di Trinoro is indeed an outstanding blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. The wine is showing beautifully right now and promises more excellence to carry it forward over the years. At the moment, it is seamless and infinite with a superior sense of balance and dark fruit integrity. It speaks in a loud, clear and articulate voice. The wine's appearance shows a dark, impenetrable color that underlines the ideal growing conditions of the vintage and the slow fruit-ripening. The aromas are stunning and perfectly balanced, showing both elegance and power. The tannins deliver dimension and a firmly unyielding quality that bodes very well for the future evolution of this stunning wine."

Vinous Media
95+ Points, Ian D'Agata, Vinous: "(42% merlot, 42% cabernet rranc, 12% cabernet sauvignon and 4% petit verdot): Bright red-ruby. Explosive aromas of red cherry, blueberry, mocha, vanilla and sweet pipe tobacco. Utterly palate-saturating yet weightless, conveying wonderful clarity and cut to its crushed red fruit, floral and sweet brown spice flavors. Very impressive on the extremely long, silky finish, where the flavors build slowly and inexorably, showing outstanding lift and creamy sweetness. This should evolve in bottle for decades, but even today it's impossible to resist. The 2009 vintage was another hot one, but overcast and cooler fall weather in the Sarteano area allowed Franchetti to pick later than usual. The extended hang time has allowed for one of the most impressive young Trinoros in some time; the wine is also different than usual in that it's relatively top-heavy with merlot. In this respect it reminded me a little of the 2004 vintage (which included an unheard-of 83% merlot), though the two wines are very different and the 2009 clearly better."
