95 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This debut vintage is a classic expression of Syrah. With fruit drawn from 34-year-old vines, fermented both in terracotta amphorae (acquired from the Manetti family of Fontodi fame) and open-top tonneaux, then aged ten months in French barrique, the 2015 Le Pupille shows all the typical notes of Syrah and a nice roundness of tannin. It is a very tight wine that is layered and beautiful, carefully crafted to avoid reduction. This new line should be a winner for years to come. Congratulations." 5/19

94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media: "A new wine in the lineup, the 2015 Le Pupille is 100% Syrah done mostly in terra cotta, with some 500-liter barrels in the mix. Black olives, herbs, menthol and red plum are lifted by the inclusion of 40% whole clusters. Intense aromatic lift and richness make for an absolutely delicious wine that will provide immense pleasure right out of the gate." 3/19

97 Points, James Suckling: "This is a new wine from Le Pupille and made in amphorae and large barrels. The aromas are a dead ringer for Côte-Rôtie! So much smoked meat, spice and dark fruit. Full-bodied, juicy and succulent with plenty of dark fruit and then a long and flavorful finish that shows gamey and earthy undertones. Clean and vivid. Drink or hold. 3,000 bottles produced." 7/18
