97 Points, Zachys Buying Team: "The Zachys Team had the good fortune of experiencing this wine from barrel with Alfred Tesseron a few year back, and just yesterday in bottle with daughter Justine Tesseron. Two years later and the wine is integrating nicely from its austere beginnings. It is the important debut from Alfred Tesseron and the vineyards that Robin Williams planted back in the early nineties on top of Mount Veeder. It is a true mountain fruit expression showcasing structure and restraint from the high altitude, cool evenings, and limestone/clay soils. This is the opposite of most Napa wines especially from the valley floor where density and ripeness are primary. This is a wine best with age and aeration, and with a two hour decant one can expect to find subtle nuances of black raspberries, wild berries, plum and cherries, cacao, crushed violets, wild herbs, spice, and stony salinity. It is a wine that can please the claret drinker and old school Napa enthusiast and is truly is an estate to watch. Just 1,600 cases produced."
