Wine Advocate
97+ Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Comtes de Champagne Rosé vintages of yesteryear contained more Chardonnay and were released after shorter maturation sur lattes, but Taittinger is using more and more Pinot Noir in this bottling and now release it later than its Blanc de Blancs counterpart. That trend is exemplified by the 2008 Brut Comtes de Champagne Rosé, a wine that contains fully 70% Pinot Noir and 15% red wine. This bottle was disgorged as a trial in July 2018, but since the 2007 rendition is only at last being commercialized this year, readers will still have to be patient before they can get their hands on a few bottles. It will be worth the wait, however, as the wine wafts from the glass with a beautifully Burgundian bouquet of spices, plums, red berries, orange rind and nougat. On the palate, it's full-bodied, vinous and tight-knit, with serious concentration, racy acids and an abundance of chalky extract, concluding with a long and penetrating finish. This is a rosé with immense potential." 08/19
James Suckling
99 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "Deep color of bronze with orange-peel and golden hues. Strawberry, earth, bark and orange with peach-pie aromas. Full-bodied and layered with lots of phenolics that give this Champagne and velvety and rich texture. It goes deep down. Open and beautiful. Exotic and flamboyant. So fresh and vivid. Just jumps out of the glass. So much energy. Drink now." 09/22
Decanter
97 Points, Yohan Castaing, Decanter: "The proportion of Pinot Noir in Comtes de Champagne Rosé has tended to increase in recent years, as evidenced by this 2008 vintage, which is almost 70% Pinot Noir. There is 15% red wine, and the rest is Chardonnay. With notes of spices, black cherry, morello cherry and black fruit, the bouquet is impressively complex and delicious. On the palate, the vinous texture, fine bubbles, depth and complexity allow for a long, chalky, chiselled finish. This is a gastronomic Champagne rosé with great ageing potential." 07/21
