Intense black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by notes of licorice, pipe tobacco and smoky minerals, with a suave floral nuance emerging with aeration. Sappy, penetrating and deeply pitched, offering vibrant blackcurrant and boysenberry flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Rich but energetic as well, finishing with excellent clarity and smooth, harmonious tannins. This wine is a blend of 2006 and 2007 casks and is made from 40% cabernet sauvignon, 40% cabernet franc and 20% merlot, all drawn from a three-acre site in the Tulocay district east of the town of Napa." 05/13
