    "What fun; excitement and joy it will be to compare the four perfect wines Perse has made in 2005; 2009; 2010 and; of course; the 2000; in 25 or so years. This wine is truly profound Bordeaux. Everything is in place – remarkable concentration and a beautiful nose of cedar and ripe blackcurrant and blackberry with some kirsch and spice box in the background. Lavishly rich; with slightly more structure and delineation than the more Rabelaisian 2009; this wine does show some serious tannins in the finish; and comes across as incredibly youthful. Of course; it's five years old; but it tastes more like a just-bottled barrel sample than a 2010. In any event; this wine is set for a long; long life and should be forgotten for at least another decade. Consume it over the following 75 or more years...100" Robert Parker; WA 8/15. . . "Amazing aromas of blackberries and chocolate. Then dried herbs and sweet tobacco. Wonderful. Full body; with a wonderful density and richness. It goes on for minutes. It shows such great tannins and finesse. It is the essences of Pavie." 04/16. . 96-98 Points; Neal Martin; Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Pavie is a blend of 60% Merlot; 22% Cabernet Franc and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon that is matured in 80% new oak and 20% one-year-old barrels. It has a really quite glorious bouquet that is sensual and very well defined and pure. In my opinion; just dialing down the new oak even by 15% is allowing more personality and more terroir-expression to filter through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple; ripe; lace-like tannins and a fine bead of acidity. It feels caressing and sensual in the mouth with superb mineralité and purity on the vivacious and sustained finish. This is unquestionably the best wine from Gérard Perse in 2015: a great Pavie with a very long life ahead; though I would cellar it for at least a decade to witness it in full flight." 04/16. . 95-98 Points; Antonio Galloni; Vinous Media: "One of the wines of the vintage; the 2015 Pavie is dense; powerful and seamless. A huge; spherical wine; even for the year; the 2015 exudes depth. The super-extracted; oak-driven style that was such a Pavie signature a decade ago seems to be giving way to a more refined approach that showcases fruit; richness and purity. The alcohol this year is 14.55%; and it is matured in 80% new oak and 20% one-year-old wood. As Gérard Perse explained; this is a Pavie that has taken stock and shifted in direction in recent years; reflecting more of its exceptional terroir instead of winemaking. It has a very intense bouquet that is extremely well-defined and shrugs off that higher alcohol level. You can find the graphite vein courtesy of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the underlying tension; while a second bottle had a soupçon more florality. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent; ripe; supple tannins that gently caress the mouth. It feels beguiling and charming; totally different in style compared to say Cheval Blanc; offering a more sensual take on the 2016 growing season. The 2016 is an exceptional wine by any measure.
