Shipping & Returns
Important Notice - you must be at least 21 years of age to purchase wine and/or spirits. Due to federal and state regulations, all wine and/or spirits shipments must be received by an adult 21 years of age or older. By placing your order, you have represented to Zachys that you are at least 21. All alcoholic beverages that Zachys arranges for shipment on your behalf must be received and signed for by an adult of legal drinking age, which also includes items shipped outside of the United States.
Please note that it may take 3-5 business days to receive, assemble and ship an “in-stock” order subject to order volume. Weather conditions* may also add time to the delivery of your package, so if your order is time sensitive, we suggest that you choose an expedited delivery option. Wine and alcohol shipping laws vary from state to state, and often change during the year. If you have a specific question about states that we ship to, please chat with us via email or phone (914-874-8000).
Please be advised that shipments will NOT automatically be held depending on high or low temperatures in your area. Your purchase confirms authorization of immediate shipment and delivery. To hold shipping for up to 90 days free of charge, please select “Zachys Fine Wine Storage” as your Order Option at checkout. You may then arrange shipment or pickup of your order by contacting Customer Service via email or phone (914) 874-8000.
As standard practice, a Protection Fee is added to all Zachys shipments. The Fee is equal to 1% of the value of the items being delivered. In return for payment of the Protection Fee, purchased wines will be protected solely against breakage, theft or fire during shipment to the customer’s declared point of destination. Protection Fee coverage is equal to the value of the purchase price of corresponding wines. It covers the cost of replacement wines and standard re-shipment of those wines to customer. In the unlikely event that a customer’s re-shipment also experiences an issue, the next replacement and re-shipment are not covered by the first Protection Fee. Please note that original wooden cases are shipped separately from the wines they once housed. Protection fees apply only to the wines shipped to your address, and not the wooden cases. Travel protection does not cover damage caused by heat or extreme cold.
Returned orders relates to any order that has been delivered to the Buyer and subsequently returned or declined by the Buyer. If items are being returned for reasons other than being damaged, the restocking fee for these orders is 10% of the sales amount. Returns are only accepted within 90 days of the purchase date, provided that the wine is a current vintage still stocked and sold by Zachys. If wine is returned without a receipt, we will only honor the lowest price the item has sold for in the last 6 months and will only issue an in-house credit on the Buyer’s account valid for one (1) year.

Due to federal and state regulations, all wine deliveries must be received by an adult 21 years of age or older. An adult must be physically present to sign for the wine delivery. Therefore, Zachys recommends that you designate a business address. Federal regulations also make it illegal to deliver wine to post office boxes. Zachys cannot schedule deliveries for a specific time during the day.
Please Note - The time it takes to pull, assemble and process a typical order is approximately 3-5 business days prior to arranging for delivery. If your order is time sensitive, it is suggested you choose an expedited delivery option. Delivery dates are never guaranteed if sent via Ground service.

Items requiring adult signature like wine and spirits cannot be rerouted from their original address. Please keep this in mind when choosing your delivery address.
Please note Zachys is unable to arrange common carrier delivery of hard liquor or spirits outside the state of NY.
1% of the total purchase price will automatically be added to your order to cover any breakage or loss that may occur. In the case that you receive damaged merchandise, you must inform Zachys of any broken or damaged bottles within two days of delivery. A call tag will be issued to pick this up at a chosen location and once the merchandise is returned to Zachys, a replacement item(s) will be sent out. If you would like to decline this coverage please uncheck the acceptance box on the form. By waiving the coverage you relinquish Zachys of any and all responsibility of breakage or loss that may occur to your order. You may elect to have the original wood case shipped (if applicable) by noting this in "Special Instructions" upon submission of your order. This is a supplemental charge of $10 per case to ship via Ground service.
Please note that your delivery costs are estimated. Actual costs will be confirmed with you when your order is placed.
Place of Sale
Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from seller to buyer in the State in which the sale occurs, and buyer takes all responsibility for the wine being transported from the state of sale to the buyers selected destination. By placing an order, buyer authorizes seller to act on buyer’s behalf in arranging for transportation of the wine at the buyer’s direction. Alternatively, buyer may choose to pick up the wine at seller’s location, or make independent delivery arrangements. Sales tax will be applied based on the seller’s location.
Seller makes no representation as to the legal rights of anyone to deliver or import any wines, alcoholic beverages or other goods into any state. Buyer is solely responsible for the transport of wine and other goods purchased and for determining the legality and the tax/duty consequences of having the wine and other goods delivered to the applicable destination.
Zachys Policy on Consumer Transportation of Purchase Requirements
Zachys policy is to strictly observe all legal requirements on delivery that exist in New York and in other states. Zachys requires customers visiting its facilities in person, online, or who call via telephone, who buy wine and other items to either pick up their purchases at a licensed Zachys facility, or to have their purchases delivered to themselves under such legal rights as may exist (and such rights change regularly – consumers are strongly advised to know the requirements that apply to them) for them to take delivery of wine in the state or area in which they live. This legally permitted method of doing business involves the following steps (1) title legally (in accordance with the Uniform Commercial Code) transfers in the state of sale, where the goods are sold, (2) Zachys files tax reports in accordance with state law, and (3) the bill of lading shows the customer (who directs the process of either picking up his or her wine or having it delivered in accordance with the customer’s legal rights) as the party directing the delivery.
