Rebecca Gibb, Vinous: "The 2021 Chavignol is a tender and rounded style, surprisingly so compared with a lot of other 2021 Sancerres that are racy rather than ripe. But that's what the Boulay family is looking for in its wine - ripeness not acidity. It offers clean, unmessed with Sancerre fruit - all elderflower, pineapple and citrus. A wild fermentation in tank with around eight months ageing gives a light leesy character, providing interest beyond the fruit. Well balanced and could be enjoyed now to eight years." 07/22
