Wine Advocate

97 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: ""The grapes in the Felseneck were a dream in 2015," says Tim Fröhlich and in fact, the 2015 Felseneck Riesling GG opens with an enormously deep, precise and flinty bouquet. On the palate, this is a rich, powerful, very complex yet pure, refined and silky-textured Riesling of great piquancy and persistency. For Tim Fröhlich, 2015 was "an uncomplicated, picture book vintage that we would take every year." Indeed, his Rieslings are characterized by full ripeness, intense fruit flavors, precision, finesse and vitality. "The wines taste like the grapes we picked," said Tim. "To me, 2015 is the finest vintage of my career. Even more, there is almost no chance to top these wines I fear..."" 12/16

Vinous Media

97 Points, David Schildknecht, Vinous: "Lime and grapefruit, crabapple and red raspberry in the nose anticipate the bright, juicy refreshment that then arrives on a gripping, energetic but alluring, satin-textured palate. Not that mineral complexity fails to be anticipated in the aromas. Salts, alkali, iodine and stone engage in kaleidoscopic finishing interplay with intense fruit in a mouthwatering, shimmering, vibratory finish. The sheer sense of energy and penetration here are remarkable. They raised gooseflesh for this taster, and would almost certainly have left my tonsils - if I had any - quivering in synchrony with my tongue. Imagine the future that awaits this wine! (Drink between 2017-2038)" 11/17

John Gilman

98 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar: "Along with a few of the GGs from Klaus-Peter Keller, the Schäfer-Fröhlich Felseneck is probably the greatest dry Riesling produced in 2015. This young wine is the stuff that legends are made from, as it soars from the glass in a blaze of grapefruit, tangerine, kaleidoscopic slate minerality, a touch of lavender, wild yeasts, citrus peel, dried flowers and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and laser-like in focus, with a rock solid core, great cut and grip and a very long, seamless, nascently complex and electric finish. Sheer brilliance. (Drink between 2024-2065)" 4/16
