Riesling Bernkasteler Lay Auslese *** (White Capsule) Molitor 2015 (750ML)

97 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Riesling Bernkasteler Lay Auslese *** (White Capsule) opens super fine and precise as well as rich and concentrated on the nose, with flinty fruit and some highly noble sur lie aromas. On the palate, this is a rich, intense, juicy, powerful and succulent Riesling with a very good structure and aging potential, but the extract sweetness is almost too high to appreciate this wine at this early stage. However, the juiciness and structure are so stable and the finish so long and complex that this wine will surely shine in 20 years. There is really no need to drink it earlier." 4/17

Vinous Media

94 Points, David Schildknecht, Vinous: "Site-typical dark cherry and mint on the nose and on a lush, silken-textured palate gain invigoration and mouthwatering intrigue from a suffusion of mineral salts, crushed stones and smoky black tea. The virtually dry finish follows suit with a superbly sustained alliance of coolingly herbal concentrates, lusciously ripe cherry and apple fruit, and a downright mysterious, almost mesmerizing procession of mouthwatering mineral nuances. Molitor's plan to reveal the Lay as a site of grand cru potential takes a step forward with this hugely impressive effort." 1/18

James Suckling

95 Points, James Suckling: "Rich and creamy, but no hint of heaviness because of all the herbal freshness. In the Molitor context, a big dry wine that needs a couple of years more to open up. Huge aging potential that needs to be measured in a handful of decades." 6/17
