"The 2015 Paul Sauer spent five days on the skins and matured for 24 months in new 225-liter French oak (medium toast.) I tasted this both sighted and then blind. It has a sophisticated bouquet of blackberry, raspberry coulis, cedar, sage and mint, perhaps demonstrating a little more precision than the 2014 Paul Sauer. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannin, touches of blackberry, raspberry, sage, white pepper and pencil lead. This is quite an intellectual Paul Sauer, and one of the most complex I have encountered, showing real refinement and depth toward the persistent finish. It will benefit from another year or two in bottle, but what an impressive wine!.August/2018"

92 Points, Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast: "This is a rich and seductive yet well-balanced Chenin, offering ripe notes of stone fruit and melon that are framed by threads of lanolin, beeswax, graphite and fynbos. The medium-weight palate is bright and clean, as fresh citrus and green fruit tones are partnered with lively acidity and a pithy citrus and melon-rind flavor on the ensuring finish. Drink now-2020." 5/17

"A great wine, with a distinguished track record in one of the best-ever Cape vintages: if any South African wine deserves 100 points, and I strongly believe that it does, then it is the brilliant 2015 Paul Sauer, one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted. Cabernet Sauvignon-based with 15% each of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this is intense, refined and well balanced, with seamless tannins and structure and beautifully integrated new oak. Bravo Kanonkop! Bravo South Africa! 2023-35." - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 100/100
