95 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2018 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 1er Cru has an exceptionally well delineated bouquet with black cherries, iodine, incense and orange liqueur, traces of mint developing with time. There is still some wood to be assimilated - it just needs time. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy opening, gentle grip and superb mineralité. This feels very natural and effortless, a Clos des Epeneaux destined to age supremely well over the next 25-40 years. Wonderful." 10/20

93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "A soft dollop of wood frames the distinctly earthy aromas of plum, black pinot fruit and violet that are definitely ripe yet remain nicely fresh. The medium-bodied flavors possess a beguiling texture and fine mid-palate concentration thanks to the abundant dry extract that serves to buffer the firm tannic spine supporting the balanced and beautifully persistent finale. This is marked by the warmth of the 2018 vintage yet even so, it manages to remain inviting and refreshing. In a word, excellent." 04/21

95 Points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "Bottled June 2020. The 2018 still has a dense concentrated purple colour. Superbly stylish though still very backward in bouquet. At the moment this is just a huge ball of wonderful rich mostly red fruit, some black cherry notes hovering at the edges, a little spice, well integrated tannins and acidity just present in an adequate minor key. That’s for the structure. This will build into a wine which will give immense pleasure much later in life, starting in 10 years but with at least 25 in all. The yield was 33 hl/ha, the same as 2017 which is 50% up on 2019 and 2020." 12/20
