Reviews

Wine Advocate

87-89 Points, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains felt a little raw on the nose, rather stemmy compared to the Boudots. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, grippy in the mouth but it feels rather bony and needs more flesh toward the finish." 12/17

Vinous Media

90-92 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "(this vineyard was affected by frost, but Jadot has three different sources of fruit): Bright, dark red. Aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and menthol are complicated by a sexy musky quality. Boasts lovely mineral energy and definition in the mouth, as well as excellent depth of flavor and restrained sweetness. Seems higher in acidity than most of the Jadot '16s from the Côte de Beaune but also more complex. Finishes firm, even a bit muscular, but not hard, with serious ripe tannins. (There's no Les Saint-Georges or Les Cailles in 2016 as Jadot couldn't get the fruit.)" 1/18

James Suckling

93-94 Points, James Suckling: "Still rather closed but this is a well-structured Nuits St. Georges, which shows some elegance. Really needs some time to shine. Better from 2020." 2/18
